Portage la Prairie shows steady growth in residential and commercial construction. Thirty-two new single-family homes valued at $8.77 million were approved, up from 21 homes last year. Multi-family permits decreased to five, valued at $3.38 million. Repair permits total 80, valued at $3.81 million. Commercial and industrial permits are steady but down from last year. Institutional permits increased, partly due to hospital projects. Farm building permits remain steady.
